Halloween Cookies

These are simply delicious and ony take 15 minutes prep time and 15 minutes to bake. These cookies may also be cooked using the microwave. They only take 3 minutes to cook in the microwave. They are very tasty and kids will love them. This recipe will show you how to bake them coventional style and microwave style. The cookies have a spice taste. Halloween Cookies are also great for serving to kids as an after-school snack. This recipe will make about 50 cookies.

Ingredients:

1 cup of real butter

2 cups of brown sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup of pumpkin puree, canned

2 cups of flour, all-purpose

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 teaspoon of nutmeg

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of orange flavoring

1/2 cup of pecans, chopped

Frosting:

6 tablespoons of butter

2 cups of powder sugar

1 teaspoon of orange flavoring

4 tablespoons of milk

Directions for Cookie Dough

1. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs well. Combine the butter and brown sugar and pumpkin puree and mix until well blended.

2. Add the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder and soda, and salt. Stir well unti a dough is formed. Add the orange flavoring and nuts.

3. Drop by spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet.

4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 minutes.

Directions for Frosting:

1. Melt the butter.

2. Add the powder sugar, orange flavoring, and milk. Stir well.

3. Allow cookies to completely cool before spreading the frosting. Enjoy!

Microwave Method

Ingredients are the same as the conventional oven method.

Directions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, mix the butter and brown sugar until smooth.

2. Add the eggs and pumpkin puree and mix well unti smooth.

3. Add the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, baking powder and soda. Mix well and add this to the mixture.

4. Add the orange flavoring and chopped nuts.

5. Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased microwave safe cookie sheet.

6. Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Let cool before frosting.
